I love Morality  | Plants  | 2015

 

The title of the work suggests a paradox, where love as an expression can be understood as a self interested act, where as morality exudes a concern for others. The work addresses to the contradictions that exist within the idea of morals, where the concern for others also puts the human self at the Centre. What happens if one uproots a plant, a plant that is bought from a super market and is grown specifically to be an object of decoration with a specific span of life and is brought to a domestic environment for aesthetic pleasures. However, uprooted flowers often used as a display of affection in form of bouquets, if often not considered as a brutal act, but celebration of love.
